As many of you know, I've also stepped into the field of body-based Expressive Arts Therapy as a practitioner. Here is my latest offering!

Calling in the Muse: A Life/Art Playshop

Sunday, January 22, 2017 12-4pm at Subud LA, across from LACMA: 5828 Wilshire Blvd, 3rd floor, Los Angeles, CA 90036

What's stirring inside you? What yearns to be discovered and revealed?

Leave your inner critic at the door and we'll spend the afternoon getting lost in childlike curiosity. Drop into deep conversation with your muse through movement, drawing, creative writing and play. Bust through any illusions that you can’t move, draw or write and step into authentic expression. Dive deep, held in a safe space, and learn what most longs to be seen, heard and felt through the connection to your muse.

We will be exploring the archetype of The Fool as Muse.

Exchange: $65 early bird rate until January 15; $80 thereafter. Scholarships available. Pre-registration is required. Please make your payment to Ann-Kowaleski at Venmo or ann_ko@yahoo.com at PayPal. Space is limited, register today!

Parking: Street. Free, no metering on Sunday.

What to Bring: Layered clothing for movement, walking shoes, a jacket, your journal, favorite pen, water. All art materials will be provided.

Ann Kowaleski, Expressive Arts Therapy Practitioner/Artist
I create laboratories of curiosity.
Every discipline I've studied has led me to this imagery and meaning making. From Art History at UCLA, developing a deep reverence for the body in my 15 year massage therapy practice, befriending and healing my soul with my graduate degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica, and Expressive Arts Therapy at Tamalpa Institute, which cleverly tied my life and my interests together by adventuring into my body and discovering my own closely held, ever-surprising myths and metaphors, symbols and truths.
My many years of interdisciplinary training in the arts and body have sparked a desire to share the gift of the Tamalpa Life/Art Process, a system which alchemizes the body, art and performance so that one’s personal myth and story can emerge. It is this emergence which creates healing on a soul level. When I teach this work, or experience it as a student, something spontaneous and mystical always happens. That’s because I ask juicy questions from a spirit of love and playful curiosity.
